Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course the student is expected to:

  • Get acquainted to the fundamental tools of economic analysis.
  • Apply these tools to the analysis of health policy issues such as the role of the government health programmes and the impact of competition and regulation on providers and patients.
  • Develop a better understanding of the role of economics in our sociopolitical environment as well as the role economics plays in decision-making processes.
  • Acquire a range of transferable skills including literature review, analysis of case studies, report writing, oral presentation, etc...
